New Toy! G&L!

Last week I won my first ebay auction. I was shooting for this gorgeous flame maple cherry burst G&L Legacy, but it got too pricey for me. Instead, I found a Fullerton red one listed for cheap. It just happened to be one town over from me too! I sniped it with 2 minutes left and won a 2004 G&L Legacy for $550 and change.

It's sweet. Next to no finish on the neck. Rosewood fretboard that will darken up nicely with some oil. Mint green pickguard. There is not a single scratch on it. The previous owner bought it new and didn't ever play it. He prefers ASAT's. Came with the OHSC and all the stuff inside.

With just a little tweaking, this will become my #1. First things first, gotta put a bucker in the bridge. Strat bridge pickups are just soooo thin. The neck and middle pickups scream, though. Then it's time for intonation.

This blows any of the American Fenders I've been playing right away. The only fit/finish issue is a bit of excess plastic on the switch tip. I think the neck is a #1, 1 5/8" wide, 12" radius, normal back profile. The trem is awesome. Even without locking tuners, I can wank on the bar all day long and it stays in tune. The guitar resonates forever and is extremely loud unplugged.

I can get pics this weekend if anyone wants to see. ;) I am a 100% G&L convert now. First my SB2, now the Legacy... if I win the lottery, an ASAT too. :D
