New Track, more of the ambience stuff of old

Had a hook laying around that I wanted to use, and stumbled upon some riffs and textures that fit around it quite well. Lots of tapping/clean stuff in this, along with some good ol' Meshuggah-inspired chug at the end, with some shreddy bits over it. I do plan to extend this, so consider this draft 1.

Sounds awesome. I only have one issue with it, the chugga riff at the end seems a bit pushed for keeping up with the drums, but thats just me (and my little knowledge of alternative metal... or.. erm.. 8 string chugga metal)

hmmmm LOVE the heavy stuff in the start, cool riffage...clean part wasn't bad at all either...however the 2nd heavy part was a bit bland for your normal style...your better than that...needs less wanking, more of your cool riffing instead of chug chug chug chug chug yawn LOL!!

Well speaking from my undying love of Meshuggah I quite enjoyed that last little bit, it's punishing, a nice complement to what happened to come before it. Also it set up the busy lead quite nicely by framing it with something far less complex. I do hear some octave chording going over top of it in my own head though, if you're looking to add some more flavour.

I redid the solo and added some more to it, as well as more riffs... going to post that this weekend I believe. Thanks for the compliments, guys!

As far as that last part being boring - see Swedenucks comment as to why I did it, and then go listen to Destroy Erase Improve!

Great stuff jeffo! Bigheadood - to me it sounds very 5150... so i think jeffs had his 5150 out on full wack.... tell me this is line 6 jeff and its time to buy a kidney bean myself...

nah, this is surely a 5150, the nasty pod fizz isnt in there.... but at the same time its a very clear recording...

5150 and Recto models layered, high end fizz filtered out post recording.
