new track, very bluesy shuffle

super rad stuff

Skaforlifeologist
called "'dunno when, where, how." it's just a little thing i whipped up, but the timing is all jacked up because i tried using audacity instead of abelton live, and caused all sorts of laggy stuff to happen. anyways, i'm again curious to know what any of you guys think of the mix, so any criticism(constructive or otherwise;)) is welcome.

good effort, lots of good fundamentals in playing you have there...I think the delay on the main rhythym is overbearing, the bass is too loud, seems like things are out of rhythym, I suggest working on 4/4 time, sounds like the bass needs to be compressed and smoothed out volume wise, song cut out on me in the middle of a solo, after 1:23 ...if you meant to cut out its good to fade out maybe...good work in progress, keep it up

ah i did accidentally cut it, but i did the thing at 4 in the morning and my computer was lagging so i didn't care:laughing: thanks for the tips though, i'm definitely re-recording the whole thing.

i uploaded a new version, all new tracks, and mixed a little better. not to mention my timing is much better since i used my other recording software. ha!

ur aaaight ... I was in a ska/punk band when I was 19 - i was the lead singer and only guitarist in a 5 piece band, we played for some big crowds :). Its midnight, so Ill listen through my studio monitors tommorrow

Re: new track, very bluesy shuffle

oops, I meant I was in a 6 piece ska band - 2 trumpets, a sax, bass, drummer, and myself. I wrote all the music so I had to transpose for the diff instruments; even the bassist tried to get me to write out the tablature for him.

Its better without the echo, eventually you should mix things up so that you use more than 1 riff, I think the solos should be panned center and the riff should be panned hard right/left. Your solo sounds like your using only 1 or 2 patterns in in a minor scale. Im not much a fan of listening to alot of improv, I listen more if the guitarist uses major AND minor scales, and diff scales, along with dynamics (loud/soft). For a short clip this clip aint too bad, keep it up!

that's cool, except for the bassist. i almost had a ska band put together, but there was too many people to try to get together(we had almost 8 or 9 people and no bassist)

there's no echo this time because i switched the rhythms around, one of them is the original riff and the other is a chord progression, along with the fact that i turned off the delay this time:D i know the solo's not exactly great or anything, just felt like putting something on top since i don't have the vocals put together yet. but i'm actually getting vocals together this time, which is better than nothing like the other one!
thanks for listening bro:)
