Hey Guys,

Finally finished a tune after a horrible writing slump dating to last September... Very much my roots of funk n roll. As always, features the amazing drumming of Rikki Davenport, the grooves never end with him.... Useing an early 70s Laney L60 head on this, it is a PA head that is 4 channels of vintage Laney roar. Finally tossed my EH octave pedal on a tune, been wanting to do that forever. Useing an Arbor LP copy with a Sheptone that I got in a trade. Very nice PAF wind...... Anyway, hope you enjoy....

Awesome stuff, as always, Kevin! Tons of stank.

I love how you can always hear the gear being pushed right to the edge in your recordings. It just drips unmanicured attitude. Do you really play as loud as it sounds?

Very cool! Retro but not if that makes sense? Love to hear vocals on your stuff because the playing is always great.

Arrrrr, that's nice! I really like the throaty edge-of-meltdown sound you're getting.

Love that word 'stank'..lol I use a Weber Mass, so it could be a lot louder, but it definately is loud. Enough to get the room shaking but not falling down....

Thanks man!

I think I understand retro but not thing, definately my take on a bit of was AND is.

I have so much freedom doing instrumental music, I will have two vocal tracks on my next disk, but it is not where my heart is. Changes the process for me, maybe more than I want it to, at this point....

man, you are one of my favorite guitarists, not gonna lie. and this song proves exactly why. you just get it musically. awesome stuff man.

i always love to make analogies to what it feels like listen to a song...like a real life experience. for this one, and a lot of your stuff, i think of walking down a busy street....just loaded with people. and everything is wizzing by at a million miles like you just had 5 mtn dews. and you are eating chocolate and gelatin, just melting in your mouth.

and bro, i truly am sorry about the amp deal. i was being immature and irresponsible and i'm truly sorry.

Wow, Kev! This tune freakin' ROCKS!!! It's splashy and plunky and funky. It comes right through that you guys had a blast playing this.

You wouldn't be, say, influence by Space Ace at all, would you? :)

yeah, there really is an amazing energy to it...like so much of the rythm and everything was comp'd but it is really polished

Re: New Tune... The Fat Rocket. Laney Content

Ooo! Sounds like someone has a story to share.

haha, not so much...its in the past, no one needs to know about it but those who were involved. its embarassing and very poor planning/communication on my behalf

I'm not sure why you would have to change a bit. Just have someone write something over your track. Anyhow, it's your music - I'm selfish. :smash:

+1 I love instrumental music. That was fantastic! You got a way of making your songs sound interesting and fun. Quite enjoyable! Seriously, I would buy your album.

It's the someone writing something over my track part that is the main issue. lol, I just don't have it as a want. This is much more fun, and ultimately more creatively rewarding for me.
