I picked up the Route 808 the other day as I've been craving an 808 but didn't want to spend the $200+ the real one's go for.
So far this pedal is great, I use it as a boost with my HT-5 and recently my Soldano. It's very clear and responsive. Surprising warm and articulate too.
Seems to have less of a midrange hump, or possibly a more pleasant sounding midrange than my GT-OD and SD-1 which are also TS type pedals.
The pedal itself is built very well and is noticeably larger than all my other OD pedals. The dials on the VS V2 series are a very nice metal with a smooth but solid action. The switch is also very nice and very easy to activate. Seems very sturdy.
Pedal has a blue LED and has a bass boost switch on the front to combat the typical low end loss TS pedal are known to have when engaged. This switch works very nicely and is great for use with brighter sounding amps, guitar or pickups. Makes the pedal very versatile.
Currently in my signal chain I have Timmy clone, an OCD and now this 808 so I feel my OD needs are all covered. My numerous other OD pedals have since been shelved.
I would now like to try some more VS pedals, particularly the Open Road OD and the Angry Fuzz.
These are great sounding and built pedals at the $100 price point!
