New Website is Up ...

Sorry to Spam the pickup lounge but I figured more people would see this here.

Our new website and shopping cart is now online. It looks a lot like the old website but has quite a few more products and is hopefully more user friendly. It has a lot more flexibility on the administrative side to help with the marketing aspect of things too. It is also way better for you overseas guys, no more fake address information and shipping costs will be automatically added to the order before checkout.

One downside is that if you had an account on the old shopping cart it is now gone and you will have to re-register at the new website. Hopefully this will not be too big of a deal. Although the URL is still the same I have heard that some saved links will no longer work. This is for sure true if you were linked directly to my shopping cart ILO the website. They are now contained all in one site, not seperate entities.

If you are on the site and see anything weird or you are having issues with something please let me know so I can get it fixed. As always, I'm sure there will be some unanticipated issues that pop up despite checking and testing before going online.

Thanks!!

Good luck with the website...

...I noticed an issue which should be easily sorted.

Browsing in Firefox the title shows the open and close boldface HTML tags - <b> & </b> - as part of the text instead of hidden code.

Hope this helps

Well, that was really good news, John!

Good luck with the new site which BTW is WAY better organised than the old one.

Yours very truly,

Hey, looks good man.

Equipment is REALLY hard to find here in Portugal, and by hard to find I mean that I went to every single music shop in the capital (no exaggeration, literally every single one) and could only find PUPs in a handful of them. that was as far as guitar modding gear I could find.

I'll probably order my PUPs and pots from here, I'll be sure to reccomend this to everyone I know.

Re: New Website is Up ...

I like the tabular layout. Much faster than scrolling down to find each item.

Page looks awesome!
On the home page though the title is messed up a bit. I don't think the browser likes the <B></B>tags.
The layout is MUCH better and I can't imagine anyone having a problem re-registering on the new shopping cart.
I was noticing that with your wiring kits, no fender kits, tele, or strat kits are listed yet you have all of the individual components.
Just a thought, and once again congrats on an awesome new site!

Which title is it? I am not seeing any problems on either of my computers using FireFox. Thanks for pointing it out!!

Looking good. But how come the Screamin Demon is not on the main Duncan Humbucker page? :scratchch

One thing I notice is the resizing of the main table when you first open the page. Not sure of your complete setup, but you can set a fixed width instead of a width as a percentage of the browser view. That way it wont resize and scrunch as it does. The drawback to fixed width is that some people might have low resolution settings on their browsers, but that might still be a problem with the current setup, considering that the content has to fit in there regardless. It seems that you could fix the width between 700 and 800.

I actually had it at 780 but was experimenting with the 80%. Sounds like 780 might be a more consistent way to go. Thanks for the feedback. I'll check on the Demon, probably just missed it in the transformation.

It looks fantastic!

One minor bug, though - the Triple Shot's are still listed as 'back-ordered'. Please fix this as soon as you can! :P

Joke.

Obviously.

Re: New Website is Up ...

That's such a tough call with website design. To go with set pixel sizes, or percentages. There are pro's and con's of each approach. The fact is, there are too many different size monitors and resolutions to make everybody happy. At some point you have to just make your site look good for the most popular settings and be okay with that.
Your site looks awesome, it makes me wish I had another guitar that needed pickups, who knows, maybe I'll grow tired of the A2Pro's in my Tele.
