New York Amp Show!

Re: New York Amp Show!

You guys get off your cans and go! We're talking about room after room of killer amps!

I still wear my Amp Show T Shirt. I won a Marshall tuner last time.

I think the LA Amp Show will be in October this year.

Re: New York Amp Show!

Can 'ya bring a plank to the AmpShow? Keep things consistent from piece to piece... booth to booth...

I sorta want to bring Lester or the X-Tone along if I can...

Not sure what I'll be wearing...

Quite possibly a bright orange PEZ t-shirt if it's clean...

I might go with te blue "Dumb & Dumber" shirt...

No apologies to our Republican friends... hahaha

Re: New York Amp Show!

I really don't need a new amp..... very happy with what i have, but it would be fun to go. Last year it was the same weekend as the LI guitar show which was kind of dumb on the promoters part. This year i have to work. Oh well..... maybe next year. It would be nice if someone would write a review.

OT: Are you from the Boston area originally?

No... but I lived up there for a while... In North Attleboro a block off Route 1. Right smack in the center of town while working at Mercenary in Foxboro.

It's 11:30now... I wanna split for the show... but I'm trying to hold out for my buddy who had a meeting this morning...

Re: New York Amp Show!

I just came back from the show, it was pretty cool. I really liked the 65 Amps (London specifically), the Fuchs stuff and the new Fender coming out in three weeks. The new Fender is a Princeton Reverb amp with the PCB (comprable to the DRRI, SRRI, TRRI). 15 watts, 10 inch Jensen, about $800 I believe, maybe $700. The thing sounded really nice, surprising amount of headroom. I'll be very interested in that soon.

The Fuchs I played was an ODS head and the Train 45 head, both kicked ass. They didn't have the Blackjack 21 which was what I was interested in mostly, but I played that before. I love the Fuchs stuff.

My favorite amp I played had to be the 65 Amps London 18 watter. That thing sounded beastly. It was also being showcased in the Analogman room where I head the amp with a strat and an analogman chorus, really incredible sounds. It was a fun day

Re: New York Amp Show!

Cool. I can't wait to see and hear a new Princeton Reverb.

I agree about the 65 Amps London. That amp is always an attraction since it sounds like a big cranked amp at a moderate band volume. They look sweet too.

Yeah, it's a big sounding little amp. Surprisingly so. I've run one alongside a 40w amp and the London upped the overall volume and bottom end. I was expecting it to add breadth and texture but it really pushed out the sound and went punch for punch.
