Hello,
I'm a newbee...so of course I have a question and I bet it's
been asked what 1,237 times already?

ok, reality I own/engineer a small studio. I just bought a Epi Les Paul
standard with a sweet neck and an upgraded P-156 "Humbucker from Hell"
in the bridge position.
I bought the guitar for my clients who tend to be
younger metal or simple (classic 70's genre) rock bands who show up with
the $200 nasty strats & BC Rich cheap guitars. Most of my clients are
playing/recorded via pro rack Amp modelers...you know nice 24bit clean
into my 24ch digital board. *** Please don't hate :butkick: it works well ***

Anyways~ I was looking to upgrade the neck pickup immediatly.
I was told by a 2 guitar experts I respect...go for: 'SH-1 ’59 model

Could I get any and all opinions upon this p/u used in the neck ???

again thats the "Humbucker from Hell" P-156 already in the Bridge
with maybe the 'SH-1 ’59 model in the neck.....Good Combo (for recording) ???

Thanks BIGTIME for all of those who respond.

Re: Newbee...Well? SERIOUS SH-1 '59 question

I think the '59 is a great choice. I've tried several of the other specailized pickups in my Les Paul Standard and for me the '59 is what I pefer. It is a good value as well.

Re: Newbee...Well? SERIOUS SH-1 '59 question

not sure if the 59 neck will match well with a humbucker from hell in the bridge in terms of tone and output.

i suggest putting the hfh in the neck and go for a dedicated bridge pickup. the jb sounds like a versatile choice for an epi lp.

Re: Newbee...Well? SERIOUS SH-1 '59 question

the 59 is great pick up but I am not sure how it will macth with the HUMBUKER FROM HELL. The HUMBUCKER FROM HELL is a great neck pickup IMO. Since you got a HUMBUKER from hell I would probably suggest a Jazz for the Neck or Alnico II. Or what can be done is put the HUMBUKER FROM HELL in the NEck and go for a dedicated Bridges pick up just like DANI said.
