after a good once over by my luthier friend i got a hell of a deal from the store i talked down and out of this guitar. :) im considering one of the combos of pickups below. not sure what position or where but maybe some thoughts, or alternatives? its strictly for surf rock/rock. although i probably will toss on the metal amps sometimes.

first combo i been liking: gibson p-94 neck/seymour duncan stagmag bridge
2nd combo humbucker from hell/ seymour duncan phat cat

Great seafoam finish, but I don't know if that'll ever be a surf guitar.. There is only so much that can be done with platinum BC Rich import.

I had one just like that with a Pearly Gates set in it that nailed black metal tones.

Mine was black though. :D

Re: Next Project = B.c. Rich Surfin Warlock

Get a hot bridge pickup that splits well for surf. Perhaps a D-Sonic or evolution. The evos signle coil tone is great.

Re: Next Project = B.c. Rich Surfin Warlock

putting a seymour stag mag in it, and im tossing up a few other pickup ideas. mainly a seymour phat cat, or rio grande bastard, or even maybe one of the other bazillion p-90 humbucker size pups. it will be a surf guitar guys.

If you're gonna do a surfin' B.C. Rich, I'd love to see it taken all the way.

Put Jaguar pickups or lipsticks in it. Fill in the Floyd routes and install a jazzmaster-style tremolo. Get a custom tortoiseshell pick guard cut for it.

Man. That would be cool.

Nice, I love the paint, I would put a 'tron varient in in and put one of the emg boosters in also.....

Re: Next Project = B.c. Rich Surfin Warlock

Let me know if you sell the Ultrasonics in that guitar.

Re: Next Project = B.c. Rich Surfin Warlock

I had a pearl white one. It was plywood.

A few years back a friend of mine had some factory bodies that had never been drilled for anything. No trem posts, no controls, etc. So I bought the pearl white one and a few eBay transactions later put it together "the Falbo way" and its fun now to have a well made replica of one of my grade school guitars.

I too would love to see those Ultrasonics up close. If you're going to surf with it, though, what you REALLY need to do is route it for white or cream Jazzmaster pickups!

Re: Next Project = B.c. Rich Surfin Warlock

sold the ultrasonics, which were bill lawrence pickups. im acutally now endorsed by a boutique company out of wisconsin called dawgtown custom pickups. got a pair ordered for em. i should do a run down of what im using from them guys now. the pickups in these will be custom single coils built into humbuckers. im making a bucker built from copies of a 1954 and 1962 fender single coils. top coil will be 54, bottom 62. and reversed in the neck. coil nearest the neck will be 62 and bottom 54. ive got my own copy of a gibson dirty fingers ive had customized that is a prototype for my signature pickup. dude does amazing rewinds, i have a rewound dirty fingers as well.
