Well I'd been buzzing around a bunch of Tele's lately so something was bound to happen. Grabbed this off the local CL last weekend from a real nice guy with too much gear....I don't know anyone that resembles that remark lol
It's a 2014 MIC brass saddle version, a little heavy but not offensive, how do they find such heavy pine?!? The neck is beautiful, even has a light flame to it, feels great in the hand.
Stock it really didn't need much to get it up and running. It had 9's on it, too light for me so I tried 9.5's for shits and giggles but landed on 10's as usual. I assumed I would change the pickups but I am totally digging the stockers for now. I changed out the cheapy 3 way for a Fender version, put in an Emerson Pro/CTS 250k volume pot, D'Addario strap buttons and I think I am done. The full size Alpha pots worked well enough I guess but they're pretty stiff. I couldn't roll the knob smoothly so that had to go. It's really well made and just a nice, clean, simple guitar.
