For many years, i thought it was sacrilege to put a Floyd on a LP. Recently though, now that im in a gigging band, i thought to myself-this could combine 2 things i really love for a very versatile guitar. I dig the axcess heel quite a bit, but im still getting used to it. Unfortunately, the 498T is just a little microphonic. Of course i bought this 2nd hand, would Gibson warranty something like this?

I would love to play one of these. Looks awesome. Is the pickup causing problems when you play? Most of mine are somewhat microphonic, but I always use a noise gate when I'm playing loud and it's never wound up being a problem.

I was fascinated with the axecess when it came out. Love the heel on them, and like guitars with a floyd.

I am in love with that guitar. I am a big fan of the 498T, but I have had great success with the WLH and Black Winter sets in Les Pauls. This was a Blacked Black Winter set. I added gold posts and covers.

That's an awesome guitar! Not something you see every day either.

I vote also to stick a different pickup in it.

I like the Burstbucker 3, about 100x more than the 498.
And the Distortion 10x more than the BB3... personally.

Either way, congrats on that new guitar!

Thats suppose to have an ebony FB and yours looks like rosewood. You sure thats a legit Gibson ?
Where did you get it ? I have no idea where Gibson is sorching Ebony these days.

So, I ended up buying the Jeff Loomis Noumenon and 59 neck with gold covers for this guitar. The more I did research, it MAYBE the 2 tone pots, which are push-pull that make this thing microphonic. Regardless, i was not happy with the tone from the 498/490 set so its being swapped regardless. With that said, the 498/490 set sounds great in most all of my 90s les pauls. Was there some kind of a production change? That is for another thread.

I also had to buy some jumper harness' since this is the PCB/Quick connect setup. I will have to get the pickups wired for this, which will be easy with the jumpers.

more to come!
