NGD '76 RI

Been wanting one of these for awhile but they were limited. I finally tracked this 2010 one down, NOS w/ case and candy, at of all places my local GC who tried for over a year to get me one. They gave up and I just happened to be down there and my buddy who works there said, "Wait a minute, I have something for you" (with a big grin on his face)

Turns out is was hidden away for an employee who never followed through and bought it

Anyway, it was out the door 5 minutes later LOL

I already ordered a b/w/b pickguard for it and am installing the gold covers off my old Black Beauty that I saved

Phenomenal player, perfect build quality and this is one of the nicest I have ever seen as you cannot see any seam in the body. Slim taper neck, fast and comfortable, balance beautifully and weighs in at about 9lbs, I have not actually weighed it yet, having too much fun playing it

Re: NGD '76 RI

Congratulations!! I have one like that, but it's not specifically called a '76 reissue. It's a great guitar. I have a set of gold covered Phat Cats in mine and it sounds huge!!

Re: NGD '76 RI

The cherry '76 RI I used to own was the finest Gibson I've ever owned, even after several custom shop guitars. They're great pieces and the fast attack and chunky articulation is unmatched!

Re: NGD '76 RI

You know I like them. Show them the updated version.

Thanks for reminding me Gene :headbang:

Added Gibson gold covers taken off one of my old '79 Black Beauty's and the gold TP-6 off one of my old e/2 Explorer's. Black pickguard is already ordered, can't wait to finish the upgraded look

Anyway, this is what she looks like now. I also got rid of the factory strings and put on DR Titefit 11-60s. No loss in playability at all and no need to adjust the truss rod. Sounds huge and the lowend chunk puts a smile on my face

She's almost done
