The GAS is strong. Barely two months after my last guitar I came across something I just couldn’t pass up. 2016 Gibson LP Studio in Fireburst finish for well under it normally goes for. Only catch, no case. Oh and the pedal is a EHX Oceans 12 I’ve been wanting for months now. And the guy also threw a Starcaster chorus he swears sounds better than the name suggests in the deal. I promised the wife I’m done after she mentioned the long D word. jk I’m not stopping!

That finish is awesome. The black is just the right width IMO. Some are either too wide or not enough.
Have you pondered getting chrome tuners eventually? Won't make it sound different (someone might actually debate that lol), but it would add that final touch.
Chrome really looks great with that finish too.

Just got the guitar and still digesting what I got. I dig the ivory tuners so maybe I’ll stick to those and eventually experiment. But thanks! I love the finish too.

The new reverb pedals over the last few years are amazing. I am just beginning to get a grip on mine (a Sliver Lake reverb).

Sweet studio!

Said it before, and I'll say it yet again. An LP Studio is ALL the Les Paul you will ever NEED. Now, there is obviously a lot more to want....but that will deliver as well as any of them!

Thanks! It’s my first Gibson, and couldn’t be happier. It’s a no frills, no bells no whistles let’s get to work kind of guitar. Plays and sounds excellent.

I am barely scratching the surface with this thing. It looks complicated, but it’s actually quite easy to set up. Just a few minutes tweaking the knobs, and getting familiar with it, and all of a sudden I got lost for a few hours in spacey ambient guitar bliss.
Nice. Guitars will never divorce you and don’t care when you bring another one home. Food for thought.

Lol true! Actually wife was very impressed at the kind of deal I had. She didn’t expect to see the Gibson name on the headstock when I pulled it out of the bag to show her. Plus I traded a guitar for it, so the footprint of my collection stayed the same.

She wants a didgeridoo?

Enjoy the hell out of those, they look like fun

And isn't that really what the women care about, at the end of the day? How much space this hobby can take up, and how much clutter it can add to their home? :lmao:

lol yep! Trading a guitar for another doesn’t sound as excessive as adding another guitar to the collection. This is my third guitar since April.

I've always liked Studio models the very best of the Gibson LP line. A mid-80's alpine-white studio w/gold hardware was my first "real" guitar, so maybe I'm just sentimentally biased.

I love how light this guitar is.

Guitar came with shaller strap buttons. This is the only strap I have set with shaller locks.

Love the axe the color is great. I would not worry about the case there are so many OEM and aftermarket Les Paul cases out there new and used.

Gibson case goes for $200. I’ll probably get an aftermarket one. Or not, it’s just another case to clutter the place.

The first one says 179 but still a very nice case. The musicians gear seems like a great value too. Thanks!

There's one under it listed as "used" for $129, but I've got a lot of stuff from this place listed as used or demo but it's always mint and often looks never touched.
I think they can't discount beyond a certain point set by the brand without selling it as a used/demo/return.

I just got a nicer skb case recently and I just love their latch system. It's much better than the standard three metal buckle-styles on most factory cases.
Totally get the case-clutter thing though. Almost everyone leaves at least one or two guitars out anyways, so it makes sense to have at least one fewer cases than guitars.
