Self confessed Charvel enthusiast. Scored a great deal on a new DS1 on ebay. She plays very sweetly.

The red/black zebra is interesting. Beautiful guitar!

The one complaint I have with the 1s is that you can't see the neck thru very easy. Of course, I haven't seen oneup close but I like to see the neck thru proof.

Complaint is too strong a term, really. I think I'm just jealous.

What I most like about FMIC's take on the PRS single cut type of guitar here is the use of 25.5" scale. The oiled neck is also cool. They also use Duncan actives in several models which sets it it apart from the others in that market. I dislike the use of the Charvel brand name for this though.

I understand your sentiment about the Charvel name. I own a few brilliant Mia and Mij strats, which are amongst my favorite guitars. Putting the politics of marketing aside, it plays great. As you mentioned, the 25.5 scale is perfect and it weighs next to nothing. While I love my LP, she gets heavy... Lol. I am not into active pups, however, the passive duncans, jb4 and 59, sound great.
