Has a Dimarzio FRED in the bridge. Not loving it at the moment but who knows after some fresh strings and a few lil tweaks. Has a couple dings and a lil buckle rash on the back. Other than that it's RAWK!!

Thanks! Got it setup and cleaned yesterday afternoon. Sounds really good. These czech made guitars are sleepers. So well built.

How would you rate this guitar on a scale of 1 to 10 compared to your Hamer guitar including the pickups, play-ability, tuning stability, etc.? The fretboard looks like ebony which I personally love.

'98-'99.

Couple of my Hamers might rate a 10, this is a Solid 7.5 build. The stock pickups are nothing special. Bridge and tuners are Schallers, same tuners on the Hamer. I am not a big fan of the FRED that is in the bridge so I plan on doing something. It is Ebony. Have only played this guitar about 30 minutes total but I am about to do something about that in about 20 minutes. :headbang:

Awesome!! Killer shape? Check. Plays great? Check. Well built? Czech. I was shopping hard for a Czech Evo a few years back, but they had dried up... couldnt find one anywhere.. Congrats on another great score!

That's awesome, congrats!!! I'm normally not a big Dean fan (WORRIED BOUT THE HEADSTOCK POKING OUT MY EYES) but these are a extremely high quality and entirely different animals compared to their more recent stuff. Did it cost you an arm & a leg or was it just a leg???

Took this new cutie downtown and had it revved up a hair. Lil truss rod tightening, some clean up, new strings, and some oil to that nice Ebony board.

Cleaned up, tuned up, and hanging around for a minute.

Yeah, back when these were being made, it seemed like an odd place as most offshore guitars are China/Korea/Japan... But I always heard these were incredibly well made and played and sounded close to US Deans at a fraction.. They didnt build em there long.

Spector make their Euro series in the Czech Republic. Or used to, anyway, no idea if that line is still available.

Same company IIRC. The original company went out of business but I read recently that some of the old employees had restarted to make instruments. They were originally a violin maker and other traditional instruments before electric guitars.

That is a beauty. After playing my new ML the last few weeks, I'm kinda interested in a Z too.
