I never really bonded with my silverburst EC-1000, so I traded it locally for a Chapman ML1 RS plus some cash. I dig the Chapman much better, TBH.

It's a great guitar. Same kind of Korean crafstmanship, but with a few features that I prefer. First, the neck profile is very LTD Thin U-ish, but slightly thinner. And the thinner open-pore finish feels faster. It's also very light and comfy.

The bridge is OK. I'm thinking about replacing it with a Hipshot, but I'm not sure if would be worth it. Not that it's giving me any issues, I just really like swapping parts in my guitars and modding them to my taste.

The tuners are better than I expected. They're no-brand locking tuners, but they're smooth and really stable. Plus they're satin black, which looks really cool, so I'll definitely keep them.

The pickups are "meh" almost reaching "good". They're not bad, but coming from having Fishman Fluences in the EC was a definite downgrade. I already have a set of Jim Root EMG's on the way. Let's hope these can stand up to the Fishmans in my other guitars! Acoustically, the guitar is very bright and snappy with good sustain, so I'm hoping it's a guitar that takes pickup swaps well.

Overall, I'm really happy with the trade. It's a fine playing guitar with interesting looks!

Thank you! I had never had a Swamp Ash guitar. Or a neck-thru guitar, for that matter. It's nice! It's bright and snappy.

Thank you, dudes! :D

Nice guitar. I'm sure we'll see a pickup change thread from you pretty soon.
I actually already posted a thread asking about the Jim Root EMG's, LOL. I found a set for sale locally pretty cheap. I just hope they can stand up to my beloved Fishman Fluences in my other guitars.

Dig the 'thin skin' finish, which a lot of Chapmans seem to have, and clean looks. The padauk (I assume?) neck is definitely unique, more likely to see that in a bass!

Rob (Scallon) did a 7 string with Floyd and black painted wings not too long a go, looked pretty badass.

The neck is mahogany. It's just stained mahogany, I guess. It looks cool.

The guitar doesn't sound mahogany-esque, TBH. But I don't think that's a bad thing. I've got my EX for that.

Replaced the pickups for EMG Jim Root siggies. The stock pickups were very useable, but these are great. Clearer, hotter, and more balanced. I really dig EMG neck pickups. They aren't as underpowered as some PAF-types can be (IMO), but they aren't as dark as some overwound neck pickups (like the stock one). Not that the stock pickups were bad, but these were a definite upgrade. They look cool in zebra too!
