NGD Epiphone Iommi

Have been a big Sabbath fan for as long as I can remember- was able to go see them last week which may have provided additional "inspiration"

Anyways- seems to be very nice Epi with no apparent problems and much nicer than the version they did a few years back. I suppose it should be for more money than a new Gibson SG special I like the Iommi pickups- have had a set in an "regular" Epi SG for a couple of years now

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

Very nice!!! Ive been tempted since they first came out years ago.. Sounds like they have improved them since the orig issue..

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

These seem nicely put together- neck binding, ebony board with "proper" cross inlays and details like the horn strap button and bottom countersunk input jack

Much nicer than my "regular" Epi SG

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

Is it just an optical illusion or is the low/left side cutaway deeper than the high/right?

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

Nice! hmmm I got a super Strat (few of them), I got a super LP, all I miss is a super SG and a super Tele!
Funny, in Greece we used to call SG shape as "tauraki" meaning small bull, referring to the shape of the two horns.

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

really like the jack idea. I visually dislike the cable sticking straight out of the front of the guitar and it's more prone to failure, having the cable weight pulling down on it..So that is a huge plus. Id love to have one of these. I had an EPI G400 and it was a great guitar..

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

All SG's have slightly asymmetric cutaways. The bass horn is just barely longer than the treble horn.

Right, but I mean the depth of the cutaways not the length of the horns. Crazy I haven't noticed that if all SGs are like that. Suppose its very very slight anyhow.

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

Cool - Epi 400 is a good guitar - obviously based around that. Nice low buck Iommi option. Throw the pups in and rock it!

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

I have a PAF style in my SG build and would like to replace it with something hotter, might have to try the "Iommibucker" :)

Re: NGD Epiphone Iommi

I would totally get one of those. I am a big Iommi fan, although you'd probably not hear it in my playing anymore. Man, I wish those were available in 1983.
