Well, my wife got me guitar as a birthday/Christmas present, since I've been curious about it for a while, but so far I'm not overly impressed with the quality of the fit & finish. Way too sharp fret ends all over the fretboard (will, it has travelled across half of Europe in Winter time, so I'll give it some time for the wood to set over here in sunny Portugal), and I believe both the neck and bridge to be very slightly crooked, and the nut is way out of place. Considering the price of the guitar, I'm not surprised, but a bridge/ nut swap and a trip to my tech will sort it out.

Unplugged, it actually sounds pretty lively and bright. Will only be to play it plugged tomorrow, but the cheap looking pickups (the neck humbucker looks somewhat scratched on top of the chrome cover) and controls (the volume control actually spins way off its center) make me believe that a full electronics swap is of the highest order.

No other pics nor soundclips yet, will post after major upgrades are installed (tuners will go out the door too, to be replaced with a Planet Waves Auto Trim set). BTW, concerning electronics, I've decided on Duncans (What else?), the Hot Lead Stack Tele STK-T2b for the bridge and the Alnico 2 Pro APH-1n for the neck, hoping that the control cavity and plate will have enough space to allow me to install dual DPDT On/On/On for series/parallel/split on both pickups.

Funny notes: bit smaller than a Fender Tele, and strapped it seems to have a bit of neck dive, but nothing serious.

I love that guitar. I have an esp ec1000 and I really like it a lot. Ive been curious as to what their tele's are like. Keep us posted.

Will do, loversmoon.

A while back I had an EC1000ASB, the amber sunburst with SD lpups, an it was my main guitar for a while, until I bought a LP Traditional. Awesome guitar, just a middle ground between a SG and an LP.

I'm not a fan of the jumbo frets but the LTD strat that I have was a great value. I had been thinking about picking up a tele as well, mostly because I love the neck.

Congrats. Looks really good. Keep us up on the improvements you make.

Interesting that you decided you didn't like the electronics without plugging it in. Not usually how I come to that conclusion.

Re: NGD: ESP LTD TE-212 CAR MN

Well, for starters, I'm not really into single coils, so a stack will give me more versality. Also, the stock neck humbucker is, from what I gathered around on the Internet, a two conductor pup. Since I'm already a Duncan fan for around 20 years (endorsement plug ;) ), and I want to turn this guitar on a workhorse for many styles, namely getting some crazy wiring options on it, I never really considered keeping the stock pups.

beautiful guitar i want a wife like that.

Since the wife is way more beautiful than the guitar, I recommend going for a hot blonde over the LTD. Give it time, and not only the wife will make you happy, but also make your GAS even worse ;)
