Well, my wife got me guitar as a birthday/Christmas present, since I've been curious about it for a while, but so far I'm not overly impressed with the quality of the fit & finish. Way too sharp fret ends all over the fretboard (will, it has travelled across half of Europe in Winter time, so I'll give it some time for the wood to set over here in sunny Portugal), and I believe both the neck and bridge to be very slightly crooked, and the nut is way out of place. Considering the price of the guitar, I'm not surprised, but a bridge/ nut swap and a trip to my tech will sort it out.
Unplugged, it actually sounds pretty lively and bright. Will only be to play it plugged tomorrow, but the cheap looking pickups (the neck humbucker looks somewhat scratched on top of the chrome cover) and controls (the volume control actually spins way off its center) make me believe that a full electronics swap is of the highest order.
No other pics nor soundclips yet, will post after major upgrades are installed (tuners will go out the door too, to be replaced with a Planet Waves Auto Trim set). BTW, concerning electronics, I've decided on Duncans (What else?), the Hot Lead Stack Tele STK-T2b for the bridge and the Alnico 2 Pro APH-1n for the neck, hoping that the control cavity and plate will have enough space to allow me to install dual DPDT On/On/On for series/parallel/split on both pickups.
Funny notes: bit smaller than a Fender Tele, and strapped it seems to have a bit of neck dive, but nothing serious.
