So... someone wanted a Peavey XXX.. I had one.. 5.5-6/10 condition. Offer him the amp.

He comes over, inspects it, likes what he hears and wants to do the trade.

He tells me this Fender is 3 weeks old from the store, I look at it. MINT frets, MINT everything, plastic is still under knobs! So I got a steal!

Sounds wicked through my 1959SLP with master volume mod and a little bit of dirt from my Way Huge!

like, a different pickup or? cause it looks the exact same to me.. When I set it up next I can check lol

Just thinking it looks different in the pics than the other pickups; different stagger maybe, plus it has the 'grain' thing going on that you see in alnico polepieces that the others don't seem to have. Or maybe I'm seeing things, it's hard to tell.

I love it! Black pickguard makes a sunburst comes alive! Your finish is different too, darker like dark violin burst, adding a vintage vibe to it. Can you tell us what year it is? MX--

Love the SRV look!

I own an American Standard and I love that guitar, but I always felt the Mexican Strats are a whole lot closer to the old Strats with their 21 fret and 6 screw bridge construction.

Now don't mess with it if you already like the way it is! I personally might be interested in throwing in some Duncans though :D
