This is what showed up on my front doorstep this afternoon... I haven't had a chance to really play it yet but initial inspection is fairly impressive. I wanted to post pics because, well it's gorgeous and there is no denying it. I plan on doing an in-depth review on this guitar in the next few weeks so keep an eye out. Until then, enjoy the pics....

hmmm, made in china? The box? The case? Heh, the guitar should be MIK, unless thats changed recently.

You will have to see how well it sustains. I had 3100 that would sustain for about 4 seconds. I ended up sending it back and then got a 2000 that sustains for days. I was suspecting the graphtec bridge being the culprit on the 3100.

Nice! Congrats man, I love that finish! I have an AL-2500 and I really like it.

The case is made in china (not that you could tell otherwise because the case is gorgeous and really solid), the guitar is mik, and it sustains... main does it sustain, I can say thus far after about 3 hours of non-stop playing the guitar that I am fairly impressed. I did not expect the guitar to be this good for the money, it has exceeded my expectations for it all around. I expected it to be a decent guitar, but it is beyond that. It's not "exceptional" per say, it doesn't compare to my Carvin singlecut in playability or tone (given, it needs new pickups) but for $400, this is a whole lot of guitar....

Thanks for all you guys who recommended giving agile a shot, I wouldn't have done it without all the feedback from the board...

I will have a good review for the guitar soon (including the cons not just the pros, because there are some) but I need a good setup, more time playing it, and maybe a pickup change too so I have a real feel for it's full potential...

Re: NGD (First Les Paul...well Agile 3100 technically)

I've been tempted by these Agiles for sometimes I took a gamble and tried an Xaviere XV550 (les paul but it's semi-hollow) it was about $170 shipped. Did setup work on it (really wasn't too bad out of the box touched up a couple frets, did a lot to the bridge, and cut a bone nut *I put bone nuts/saddles on pretty much all my guitars anyway*). Put in some Fralin Pure PAF pickups, I'd been gas'in about those pickups for sometime (of course right when I get them SD makes an Antiquity JB/Jazz set).

So far I guess I'm not disappointed for what I paid but I may be looking to sell it to try to find a better suited guitar for me. I'll have to see what I can do with my Santana SE (about to mag swap the p-rails hot) if I don't dig the p-rails with the mag swap I'll take em out box em up (for a future project) and throw the Fralins in it . And bye bye Xaviere (throw the GFS p'ups back in).

Kinda wish I'd tried the Agile now they seem to be better bang for the buck, not that Xaviere's are really awful. It definitely seems on par with a lot of the Epiphones I've played.

Although now I'm really tempted to try some SD's in the PRS maybe a 59/jazz hybrid in the neck and a 59/custom 5 hybrid in the bridge and keep the push pulls for doing splits and such.

Gorgeous guitar! I've got the AL-2000 and the AL-3000M and I absolutely love them both. Had a 3100 as well, and it was great as well. Good luck with it, and I'm sure you'll really dig it after a pickup swap. I don't know that there's a better value out there for that kind of money.
