So I put the Guyker tremolo on with a roller bridge
Locking tuners from Guyker
As I moved the tremolo i noticed the low E had a rattle

May not be able to see it here but the E has dug into the nut and is laying on the first fret

Looks like the OEM had filed it a bit deep and when the new string sawing on the superglue and baking soda, it fell out
The other five were perfect
just the one.
So I had some PPS nuts i got years ago from Aliexpress before the common era
You know the ones with the hollow center
The PPS was much shorter than the original bone nut
So I had to shim it with two small strips of business card
Touch of Titebond between the layers to hold it in place and a bit on the nut
Strings hold it until it drys
Weird the low E on the new flat wound strings broke at the new locking tuner
These D'Addario half rounds have been a disappointment lately.
The seem to have a bit of gunk on the plain strings when I take them out of the package
The customer service is always super nice and sent me two sets to replace the bad set i had then.
This set was the same way. I took some 1000 grit sandpaper I had laying on the table and wiped it off it looks like just gunk not corrosion, cleaned right off. No pitts
I just dunno , I'm not gonna bother them this time
