Although I was out trying out various Les Pauls and not planning on buying anything, I came across a used 2004 Deluxe American strat that I just couldn't put down. Not sure how much I like the noiseless pickups yet and prefer a humbucker in the bridge, but man it sure is a pleasure to plug in and play. Picked up a Super Champ XD while I was at it and can't wait until the house is empty so I can crank it. I prefer 10's as far as strings and the setup is fine for now, but I'm new to the micro tilt and bridge style so I'll probably take it to a tech at one point to fine to it to my liking. Hopefully it is already routed for a humbucker in the bridge. I liked the Custom in my last strat, but would like to get my hands on a custom 8. I put it all on my Guitar Center card, 24 months no interest, but if had to be creative and told my girl my teacher lent it to me. I'm really going to be in the dog house when she finds out!
