NGD: Ibanez Artist

Hi All! Picked this up recently for a great price ($260), and gave it a fret level, crown and polish, conditioned the fretboard with Roche-Thomas Fingerboard Oil, installed Wilkinson tuners and a bone nut. It's all mahogany, the neck is more comfortable to me than the higher end Artist I sold previously, and I think the stock Artec pickups are great: 16k ceramic in the bridge, 8.4k ceramic in neck. Really like the Tri-Sound switching - gives you options of pickups in series, parallel or single coil.

Ibanez has been making ass-kicking stuff since the 70's. I love Artists, and have owned several. Good purchase!

That's a gorgeous guitar. Even at twice the price it sounds like a steal.

Man! Great purchase!

I'm not much of a ceramic fan and would personally do some mag swapping, but I certainly understand the love some players have for them.

Is that model full hollow or semi?

Re: NGD: Ibanez Artist

Thanks, guys! This one is a solid body - neck and body are both mahogany.

I really like the stock bridge pickup (it's one of my favorites), but I have an A3 I could put in the 8.4k ceramic neck - maybe make it sound more like an original Super 58?

Re: NGD: Ibanez Artist

A local store carries keeps an Artist in stock and am seriously tempted to get one. Right out of the box, these guitars play nicely and sound really good.

Artists are awesome guitars... I bought mine used a couple of years ago and have REALLY enjoyed it. Congrats! [emoji41][emoji1303]

Beautiful Artist. Is that a 325?

Thanks… And yes, it’s a 325. I really like that gloss black on yours, though, too. Artists really are fantastic guitars. Mine has the Super 58 pickups in it, which are an Alnico 3 magnet. I’m curious, which ceramic pickups did yours come with… The ACHs?
