NGD - Ibanez V302 12-String MIJ

I was wasting some time in GC yesterday, had already taken my time crawling the whole store and was chatting with the guy in the acoustic room when I saw this '86 Ibanez 12-string sitting there. Spruce top, mahogany sides/back. It sounds absolutely wonderful, plays very easily, and the neck is straight and stable. It came with a case (as nearly all vintage axes in decent condition do) and the price simply could not be beat.

I don't have a picture yet, but it is just like this one:

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be sitting outside strumming today...

Is it a solid top?

No, it is laminated.

I played it for awhile yesterday, and I really like it. It has a nice full tone, and the action is in a good place. I'm playing a lot of Zeppelin... Gallows Pole, Tangerine, That's The Way, and of course, Stairway.

very nice!! congrats!
I love the sound of a 12 string. I bought a used yammy awhile back and sadly, I can hardly play it. seems that the bridge is pulling up from the body making the action very high. I expected more from a yamaha. anyhow....
enjoy your new toy!!

Sorry to hear about your Yamaha. They are usually a very solid brand. I think this is fairly common with 12 string guitars, though. There is a lot of tension in all those strings, and unless it's really built right, they go out of whack pretty quickly.

That's what really convinced me to buy this one. The way I figure, if it's 28 years old and hasn't turned into a cheese slicer yet, it's probably going to do alright in my hands.
