NGD on the way!

Well, two NGD's actually. I bought a Road Worn Tele two weeks ago. The prior owner had turned it into a Tele Gib with a 59 in the neck and a Lollar Imperial in the bridge. The guitar was insanely bright, and I didn't like the frets or the excessively worn/beat up body. So I sold it for a handsome profit over the weekend.

So...I finally pulled the trigger on an 80's shredder. :headbang: Even though I can't play that stuff, I think it will be a fun guitar and a reminder of a great musical era. For the whopping sum of $227 shipped I bought a white 1983 Kramer Focus 2000. All the original parts, just needs a setup. Even ordered a set of Distortions to install. Also have a JBJ and a Screamin Demon in case I want to try some other pickups. Really looking forward to this guitar, even if a Floyd is pain in the arse to set up. I use the same gauge of strings on all my guitars, so I figure that once I get the setup I like there shouldn't be much need to adjust it.

Will post pics when it arrives.

Nice!

I actually got my first Floyd equipped guitar a few months ago and if you're halfway decent at setups, it's not that hard to get the hang of despite most everyone alluding to the contrary.

Re: NGD on the way!

Got the Kramer of the 'bay. I had one a while back, and I did find the Floyd a pain to set up. But I'm willing to give it another shot.

Re: NGD on the way!

Kramer arrived today. White finish has aged to beautiful ivory. Appears to have mother of pearl fret markers. Strings were ancient, so I tossed them before taking pics. Not much corrosion on the Floyd. No cracks in the pickup rings or back covers for controls or trem cavity. Neck has slight back bow, but I bet that will flatten out once I restring. I like the neck profile much more than that of the Focus 2000 that I used to own. Gloss finish is very nice, and the fret ends are smooth. Not sure who made the pickups. Definitely no Schallers like some Foci had. I look forward to cleaning it up and giving it a rip.

Re: NGD on the way!

Anticipatory NGD posts are dangerous. They can cause a drop in temperature, if you know what I mean...

But that Kramer delivers!

Re: NGD on the way!

Thanks, guys! Any idea what type of pickups these are? I'm guessing some generic Japanese things, but maybe a Kramer expert will know.
