So I have been picking up a few LP style guitars lately. I got a Dean USA Soltero MHG about 2 months ago and fell in love with it. I snagged it for 700 used, mint condition. However, I just picked up a PRS SC245 in Amberburst with birds and a 10 top for only 1500. What a freaking steal!
First off, it's damn easy to play. That's probably mianly due to the 24.5 inch scale. It has 10s and feels slinky, but not in a sloppy way. It balances extremely well and is pretty light... it must be around 7.5 or just under 8 pounds.
The SC245 pickups definitely have a bit more of a vintage vibe/PAF thing going on. Very smooth tone and good clarity for sure. I would not turn to it immediately for high gain riffing, but it sounds great along the rock, blues, jazz and fusion lines. It's also all about who is holding it as well, though.
Ill try to get pictures posted very soon. Probably one the easiest guitars I have ever played.
