NGD Schecter Omen 6

I was scrolling through Craig's list yesterday just for the hell of it, when I came across this posting . This guy was selling a brand new , Schecter Omen 6 that he had bought for his son, for only $150.00 . It was still in the box complete with the hang tags and still had Styrofoam on the control knobs . That was a deal I could not refuse, so I contacted him and he came over my house. Also to make things even sweeter, he threw in a Digitech RP-70 at no extra cost ! How in the hell can you beat a deal like that ? After doing a setup on the guitar and restringing it, I was pleasantly surprised at how great it sounds contrary to the rumors that these are only metal guitars . I play mostly Blues & Classic Rock and this baby can handle both of those genres with ease. I like this guitar and it's a keeper for sure, plus the Blue color is really nice.

"...plus the blue color is really AWESOME!"

Sounds like you got one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals on that one.

Those are versatile guitars. I'm not familiar with the house pickups in that one, but I was always amazed at what could be done with the step-up models that had Duncan Designed humbuckers. No shortage of blues and classic rock from those. A pair of Seymours could turn that one into a monster. The classic JB/'59 combo goes into some of their upper-tier models, and it does really, really well in them.

Nice. When I was shopping for those (used), all I could find were the black ones and the walnut colored ones. Had to repaint them to get cool colors. ;)

Re: NGD Schecter Omen 6

I sold the RP-70 already . It's not my cup of tea to be honest, but the guitar really kicks ass . I gave it a setup and intonation check and retrung it with a new set of Fender 250's 9-42 and for a guitar that sells brand new in the 300 dollar range, it definitely has to be the best bang for that price. I also adjusted the pickup heights on this according to Gibson's specs because I couldn't find anything on Schecter's website as far as that subject was concerned. So once I did that, I got a nice combination of both clean and kick ass gain with this guitar. It is very versatile and can do both Blues and Classic Rock. I adjusted the Gain on my Fender Studio 85 at 6 and plugged her into it and proceeded to plat it all day yesterday for several hours. I just could not put it down.

You're right . At least most of them aren't , providing you give them a proper setup and intonation check. Mine had a sticker underneath it saying that it was setup in the USA by so and so but, that was a big load of phooey . I still had to do a truss rod adjustment because it was too tight and the intonation was off as well along with the pickup height being too high was well. Once I took care of those issues , everything was just fine and dandy . It's now a friggin tone monster .
