NGD! The Tele done my way

I found out quickly that nobody makes the telecaster I wanted. So I had to take matters into my own hands :scratchch

The neck is USA fender, the body is a transparent cherry USACG and they did an excellent job! I would definitely recommend USACG to anyone looking for a guitar body.

In the neck I've got a Lollar P90 and mounted in the bridge is what I've been calling a Custom Custom Custom, which is a SH-11 with screws in both coils. The electronics are from RS Guitarworks and they have been a pleasant surprise. The tone knob on this guitar has a dramatic effect on the sound. I've been able to get some pretty cool tones from the P90 with the tone knob rolled down low.

I'm really happy with the end result. This guitar is tight, clear and full; everything I've been looking for. Enjoy!

I love red Teles with black pickguards and that's a great shade of red. P-90s in a Tele is always a win!

hows its weight? and also: did you get a rosewood board because you wanted to, or because its what ya could get?

The guitar is medium in weight, not too light nor too heavy. My strat has a maple fretboard so I figured I'd go rosewood for this one. I'm glad I did, this guitar really came together nicely :D

Thanks for all the kudos guys.

Just finished my Tele a few weeks ago, You did
a great job. Excellent choice of colors. I have a red
Strat with a black guard and I think it just clicks so well.
Sweet looking axe.

Peace,

Darrin

P.S. Is that your lady in you avatar? The reason I ask is
I had a brief liason with a woman many years ago who looks
incredibly like her, right down to that cute upturned nose.
Beautiful lady.

Nice job, I've been thinking about doing a Tele like that; with a neck P-90 and a bridge humbucker. Larry Carlton actually made that modification with one of his signature Valley Arts guitars.

Nice lookin axe!!

What sound difference does having two sets of screws in the CC make?

Haha no I wish, its the Waitress from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. If I could do clips guys I would, I don't have anything to record with.

As for the extra row of screws...I'm not too sure what effect it has on the sound. I can't say since I've never tried a regular Custom Custom, I just know it sounds phenomenal.

Re: NGD! The Tele done my way

Love it man. P90 neck pickups for President, 2012.

When you got your USACG body, did you talk to them on the phone, trade emails or what?

I'm getting one soon (STP-51) and I was curious if they were better on the phone or via email or what.

Thanks!
