Traded my Partscaster for a sweet, SWEET Telecaster! Never ever owned one before.
So if you saw my Fender Nashville thread, that's no more.

• Fender MIM Telecaster in Arctic White
• Seymour Duncan Hot for Tele set (amazing!)
• Fender Locking Tuners
• 3-saddle compensated Joe Barden bridge
• Bone nut.

It sounds KILLER! Stronger, thicker and more powerful than my Strat ever did. It doesn't have the same sparkly detail in the high-end, and I'll miss those notch tones, but I much prefer the way this behaves.
I've got another cheaper Partscaster I'll rebuild to satisfy my very unfrequent Strat cravings.

Hot for Tele bridge is amazing indeed. I'd say SM-1n is its 'perfect' match tonally. Happy NGD!

I have a Hot Stack instead of the Hot for Tele, but the SM-1n is an amazing Tele neck pup.

But a great Tele is a guitar for life.

Totally agree with your choices!
Try also a hand made satin on the back of the neck: use a 800 to 1200 sand paper and there u go! Danny Gatton's super fast neck!

I'm no photographer as you'll notice.

I'm really liking the pickups, but they might be a bit too hot for what I want. The bridge in particular is maybe too beefy and a bit un-Tele, but I'll try lowering it. Haven't adjusted much.
I have to say, I tried some heinous amounts of gain through the bridge pup and it held up so well I couldn't believe it! Even with low gain it sounds aggressive; my Strat couldn't do that.
But I've got a Les Paul for that job, so I don't know. I might want a brighter pickup, but it's truly excellent as it is.

The neck pickup is a bit dull as well coming from a Strat, but it takes overdriven leads like a champ. I guess I have to get used to it, as well as setting my amp accordingly.
I think I'm actually used to taking vintage single coils and making them a bit fat, rather than being thick out of the box. This is really new to me, I'd never owned a "hot" single coil set.

The middle position I could live without, since it sounds so twangy and country it's just ridiculous and I don't do much of that.
I'd love to have the notch sounds and neck pickup of a Strat, alongside the bridge pickup of a Tele.

However, as negative as that might sound, I'm really happy about it. This guitar feels better than my Strat did. Being a Partscaster, it had some quirks and this has none of that.
The tuners are way better, the tone is excellent and it plays wonderfully. The nut is very well done and it's very, very stable tuning-wise. I'm just getting used to it.

Plus, all of this is really exciting since I'd never owned a Tele before. It's such a rock machine!

Those covered tele neck pickups do tend to be dull. The good news is that its all in the cover. You might be able to remove the cover or swap it out for a cover that has a cutout like the filtertron pickups. All the clarity comes back then.
