Just got this beauty

2005 USA TC Exotic Spalted ML

I love the top w/ the flame and tasteful cut spalt maple. Binding is perfect, blend a soft V profile and a slick Ibanez Wizard neck and you get an approximation of how this feels. Pups are supposed to be a JB/59 set... I have not checked but they sound great. Guitar has a real nasty growl to it that I can relate to

The headstock is a smaller narrower Series III which looks perfect on this :D

Fit and finish are killer, check out the inlays on the volume/tone controls w/ the matching TRC

Sorry for the crappy images

Her name is Ariel

Excuse me now while I go "rape" her repeatedly with lustful abandon

Re: NGD USA Exotic Spalted Maple

Second that, but lose the red strings.
But what do you mean the inlays on the knobs?
Do you mean the abalone?

Yeah, I love spalted tops, this is the guitar I have on layaway right now (will probably have the money to get her next month, if not then def. the month after that :D)

Re: NGD USA Exotic Spalted Maple

Looks great, but I'd personally ditch the abalone-topped knobs in favor of regular chrome/nickel ones. Cool guitar!

All you **** rich guys with yer fancy guitars... :9:

Re: NGD USA Exotic Spalted Maple

Nicely done. The ML is a nice body style, one of the few Deans that I can get into.

Already thinking about switching everything over all hardware to gold and yanking the pup covers

It has monster sustain and it plays effortlessly. The knobs and TRC were custom appointments by the previous owner I guess as was the coated strings. They last a long time but that magenta is too weird

Carlino's sells the USA Dean Exotic spalts for $3500 which is around 3/4 of list price. They MSRP about $5k now. A lot of money but you get a lot of guitar and this one feels exquisite in everyway

Anyway, this is close to 10lbs so it's a lightweight compared to my e/2 Explorer's
