I've been playing acoustic guitars exclusively for the past decade, and I thought I was perfect happy with that until I bought an electric bass a few months ago. Then I started to get the itch. I had it in my mind that I needed a Telecaster. So I decided to head on down to a guitar shop on the east side to see what they had in stock.
And of course I came home with a Strat.

From the serial number, and pulling the neck confirms this, it's a 1990 MIM. I was surprised to see the names of the builders on the heel of the neck.

It's in very good shape for its age. Only minor scratches. No chips or dings in the paint. Doesn't really look like it has seen much playing through the years. Aside from a little rust on the pickup pole pieces and some oxidation on the frets there wasn't much to clean up.
Of course the pots and switch have to be replaced as the stubborn scratchiness won't come out. The pickups sounded pretty decent when I plugged in at the shop so I think I can live with those for a while. The first order of business aside from the controls is getting some Graphtech goodness for the nut and saddles.
