Just picked this up yesterday. Fender Classic series 60's Strat. I am really digging this guitar so far. The fretboard is Pau Ferro, but this guitar sounds like the fretboard is rosewood. I played another Strat that had the same fingerboard and it sounded like the descriptions I have heard of Pau Ferro, which sounded very good to me. This strat is more towards the warm side of the spectrum of a good sounding Strat. You can get a very "smokey" sounding blues tone out her, and the highs are present but not shrill (except for the bridge pickup) In my experience the Fender American and Mexican standards that have a rosewood board can sound very dull and not so ear pleasing, whereas the vintage series of both tend to sound much better. This one is no exception it's just warmer than I have the others that I have heard. I am going to have it set up and I am going to have to do something about the typical single coil hum. All in all I am pleased with it though.
