I've been after a Luke for a long time. Finally found one when I had the money. Lol

Re: NGD

Like butter. The neck is very comfortable and very fast. The guitar sounds awesome.

Re: NGD

Beautiful guitar! I miss my musicman, enjoy it!

Re: NGD

Very nice! Are those Dimarzios?

Yes. A Transition in the bridge and two custom single coils. Supposedly they are based on the Injectors. I'm not sure. I do know they sound very nice. When the 12dB boost is engaged the neck single is almost as thick as a humbucker.

The pickups are different and the body is 3% bigger. Other than that, I believe they are very similar. I just know that this one feels really good in my hands. Between the tone and the feel, it inspires me to play. And I guess that's all that matters. Lol

Re: NGD

That's a really great buy. Those guitars are so good. I'm a huge fan of the Axis, Petrucci and Luke models. I wish I still had my candy red Luke. Are you going to keep the active pickups?

The LIII actually comes with passive DiMarzios. It has an active preamp that allows you to get a 12dB boost off of a push/push pot in the volume knob. It also allows you to adjust the balance between the singles and the humbucker. It's a very cool setup.

Re: NGD

I'm not familiar with Luke at all, but that thang looks suweet! Nice score.

Do you mean the guitar, or Steve Lukather himself? If you're not familiar with Steve, I would HIGHLY recommend looking him up on YouTube. The guy has played in more hit songs that you can count. I've always like his playing, but in the past few years I have come to appreciate just what a killer musician he really is. Very tasty player.

Oh wow! That is a great option. Dimarzio is best for modern sounds. I did not know they make this stock.
