It's been a busy couple of days. I picked up a Squier Strat yellow w/ white pickgaurd. Traded a pedal I didn't use for it. Then I bought a Squier Bass yellow w/white pickgaurd. The bass came with a Roland preamp, Pyle Pro 3000 watt Stereo power amp, and a Fender 2x15 cab that actually came with my Bassman years ago. A friend has 14 year old and 11 year old daughters that play guitar and bass. Unfortunately her cokehead ex sold their instruments and snorted the money. So, I traded the guitar and bass to her for a small camper that is setup at our clubhouse. Sold the preamp to our old bass player, and bought an Epiphone Wilshire Phant-o-matic. I got the Wilshire for slide work because of the upper fret access. I like it for that, I like the kill switch, but I hate that damn tone switch. It's gotta go. I'm thinking EVH low friction vol. pot and CTS tone, both 500k, and a new switch. Also thinking of swapping the switch and tone positions for better access. Anyone have one of these Epi's? The 15's are blown so do I put 10's or 12's in the cab?

Also, my girlfriend brought me a mid 70's Harmony strat that's been in her closet. All black, gold hardware and maple board.

Re: NGD

That's cool that you got a bass and guitar back into your friend's daughter's hands. You should get a drum set and jam with them.

Re: NGD

I don't play drums anymore, but Tony and I do sit down and jam with them. They are great, like little sponges soaking everything up.

Re: NGD

The Wilshire is gone. Just couldn't deal with the fretwork knowing I was going to dump money into electronics, strap locks and maybe pickups. I'm looking for something with great upper fret access. SG maybe if I can find one that's not neck heavy. Need humbuckers and upper fret access solid body, any suggestions?
