First guitar I've ever bought mail order sight unseen. It's an Epi Inspired By Gibson model.

I adjusted the neck with the old credit card method,

set the action with the nickel dime thing (nickel's width from under the 6th string to the 12th fret and a dime's width from under high E), intonated bridge and came out with this.

It's going to take a little getting used to.
It almost seems like playing a bass that was made into a guitar.

Dont get me wrong the neck's slim and fast and it's unbelievably light especially considering it's size (makes some Strats I've encountered look like a Les Paul weight wise), but the headstock's so long that I keep hitting things just like the few times when I've played a precision or Jazz Bass or (name you're huge headstock Fender bass here).

Scale length is Gibson of course, but it really feels more like a 25.5" in alot of ways

Really wierd but in a cool way.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the stock pickups. The bridge pickup is good but the neck pickup is warm without being muddy through my setup. They won't be winning any 'product of the year' awards at NAMM or anything but I definitely don't want to instantly rip them out like some guitars when I first purchased them.

How do you like the mini-humbuckers? The Firebird has intrigued me... I might have to pick something up as I transition in to "old man collector" stage.

The mini hums are nice. Like NegativeEase mentioned they are bright in the upper mids and highs. Some have called them a single coil living life as a humbucker and while not accurate by any means, I get that now. If you dig in with the wrong clean amp setting you can get that same ear spike you would with a vintage single coil bridge.

Nexk pickup = blues for days,
Bridge pickuo is the first humbucker where I don't feel like the top ends missing a little something but it is still full sounding.
