New Godin guitar day.. A 2007 SD 22 in mint condition. As you can see, it is prepped for exploratory surgery

Re: NGGD

After pulling the stock ceramic pickups, I added another hole on each side, centered for the incoming Duncan HB (note the factory 2 hole per side HB mount) . And I also enlarged the Vol and Tone holes for 500K CTS pots on the way.

The plan is a zebra C/59 with black STK-S4 mid and STK-S6 neck.. unless someone convinces me otherwise...

Almost there...

New 5 way switch, pots, cap, new pickups (see choice above), neck switch added, wires dangling, waiting for a DPDT for 3 way split coming today

Re: NGGD

Congrats on your guitar purchase. Godin guitars are great! I sure love mine which was already loaded with Seymours.:)

Re: NGGD

Can't wait to hear how it sounds!

It's a great feeling guitar, and sounds great on the cleaner side, but a little too "forward" playing under more gain. Ive adjusted the pickup heights and think I have it balanced as much as I can with a C/59 vs single coils. But I find I am often turning the 500K/.033 tone down half way or more, so probably best to replace it with a 250K/.022. If that doesn't soften it up a enough, then I may try an A2P or PG in the bridge.

Other route is to put a distortion in the bridge with a rail in the middle and maybe a red devil in the neck.

Maple/poplar body, maple fretboard with a trem and short scale is an interesting recipe.

Open to other suggestions..
