Yes, guitar straps are critical to tone. All kidding aside. I typically only use black nylon $9 straps. Recently a couple funkier straps have caught my eye and these two are now in the running as my new favorites. One is a peacock pattern the other is a Greek key pattern. They are from Paxton & Morris. Check them out they have some cool straps and pet collars.

I usually use plain black cotton. Mostly Levy's straps, as I am one of their artists. Their leather ones are too long for me, though, as I am only 5'6".

I am around the same height as you and my Levy leather is fine on my SG. I typically have the guitar so the bridge pickup is just below my belt.

I am a strap OCD person...

Love that peacock one. Is it going on that green Tele?

My straps:
Distressed brown leather
Authentic Frehley 3" Lightning Bolt
Black Leather (x3)
Zebra fur
Green cotton with dual row of rivets/grommets
Black with heavy metal studs
American Flag
Under Construction Yellow
Brown leather
Blue seat belt
Pink seat belt
...more

Was expecting a chainlink listed on there as well.

Cool straps.

I have a 2 1/2" Levi Leather I use with my Les Paul. My SG Jr. has a Levi black cotton w/ white stitches on the edges. All my other guitars have the Ernie Ball black nylon strap. That one is my favorite.

For my Les Paul Jr. DC project, I'm making one from an Army belt received as a gift from my uncle when I was a kid. It's too short to use as it is so I ordered some black leather tails from Jody Head in NYC.

must be the time of year I just picked up a few and I have eyes on a beautiful b/w Union Jack strap that matches my Triumph nicely

I'll have to figure out how to get the bike on stage :D

Fun. I like funky straps. It's all art anyways, and seeing something colorful on my guitar reminds me that what I'm doing isn't all that different from what a visual artist does.

Congrats on the new straps!

I’ve been switching everything back to the DiMarzio Clip Locks. Always loved those.

My Warwick bass is pretty heavy, over 10 lbs, so I use a 3.5” wide leather strap with it. Plain black leather for acoustic guitars.

Are those as good as they look? For that price? I was looking at them a couple of years ago but decided against it because I started reading about some quality issues, mainly fake leather that doesnt hold up. Fake leather looks good until it suddenly doesnt.

A lot of people are moving away from leather and are requesting "vegan" straps. If the straps do not hold up it doesn't matter what they are made of. There is high-quality durable fake leather out there. Some manufacturers opt not to spend the extra money.

These are great. They are beautiful, padded, real leather front and back. I've got several Levi leather straps which are fantastic and these are just as good.

Yes.

Walker and Williams straps are excellent value for money. Real leather too as far as I can tell..

I must have more than half a dozen by now.
