Nice PRS!!!!.......Worth it??

It's worth the money if you're rich! It's a phenomenal guitar,
but such a collector piece that I couldn't play it without worrying.

Most owners of that guitar are Businessmen, who put it in their giant gunsafe, hoping it'll be a better investment than a dot.com.

I'd still kill to own it, though!

I'm starting to feel that way about any guitar over $1500!

Yeah, imagine playing that guitar, which lists for over $7000,
at a club! First, a kid throws an ice cube at the top, causing
$500 worth of damage....next, your bassist wheels around and
takes a chip outta your headstock! I've have a friggin stroke
onstage, and the show would be over at that very moment! LOL

I doubt i will ever buy a guitar that is more expensive than my LP standard. I feel too uncomfortable with an expensive guitar while playing because i am too worried about the guitar itslef and not my playing.

Its a nice looking guitar, but wow is it pricey. If I was gonna spend that much money on a guitar though, it'd be a Gibson '59 Reissue

For that price, i would rather get a few cheaper guitars than one rediculously expensive guitar that i would be afraid to breathe next to.

For that kinda money, you can get a custom built one from many builders.

Word. Probably get some cooler options, as well. (I'm a HUGE proponent of custom guitars, BTW ;) )

I agree with some other posts. I'd buy a few cheaper guitars , and not worry about damaging them. Or amybe have somebody build me a custon one-of-a-kind guitar. I'd feel good about helping someone making a living...

While, as a hobbyist, that is more than I'd spend on a guitar there are many instruments out there where $4k will just get you something decent and you have to go a lot higher if you want something of "professional" quality.

Well I don't totaly agree with the fact that such a guitar is not made for players but for yuppies who want to have it hung to the wall.

Some people like to drive nice cars and they drive on the road, not only in their garage lane ! And you can have an accident with a Ferrari as well as with a crappy jap'car !

So if I have huge priced PRS , I will take it to the club sets even if I might damage it !
The damage risk is the same on a low cost or an expensive guitar , only the sadness is different !

;)

i still havent seen it because ebay is blocked at school...

however, i never liked expensive guitars like that. im very paranoid that something will happen to it and i wouldnt be able to play it. i still have yet to play a prs for that reason....

ok, i just looked at it. i have allways had a thing for that guitar (the model). worth the tag, maybe if you have the money. it does sound good...

I just had a look at it and it has been re-listed with a cheaper BIN of $3845, give it another week and it may become cheaper. The prices of PRS's recently have been going up and most of these guitars are reaching our fair shores (UK) because of the weak dollar. However I think what some people have said about taking this out and gigging with it is correct. I have some guitars that will never see the light/evening at some places and that includes two of my PRS's.

Good luck if you get it!!

Sure it is, to the guy that purchases it. For someone still getting over putting a ding in a Squire Strat, probably not.

I have a couple $2000+ guitars and a couple $4000+ guitars and they all get played out from time to time. They have little scratches and dings on them, but come on it's only wood. Guitar players play guitars and to play them is to put your mark on them.

Not everyone that owes guitars are guitar players though and as already pointed out, some guys buy pretty things so they can make a few bucks over time and occasionally rub their wood.

Don't be a wood rubber, play your guitars!

to all the play your guitars, i agree. i mean, zack still plays his grail.

its just im afraid to play it because it , i dont know, just a thing. i dont have tons of money at my possesion, so if something bad does happen to it, it would annoy me.

also, suply and demand people. that model guitar is on back order, it will sell eventually....
