No, say it aint so....I like ceramics in a Strat?

Is this something I could solve with a capacitor swap? Maybe .022uF is just too bright... Or, would not having a tone cap on the middle pickup be causing my problems? Excuse my ramblings--the pickup quest is just a bit frustrating for me at the moment. I'm always curious to see what ideas others have.

I actually like the ceramic pickups that came in my MIC Squier Strat. They are a little warm and gritty, but still clear enough to do the vintage strat sound. I hate the alnico pickups in my Squier Standard Strat. They are not vintage sounding thin either. I wil probably go with either the Everything Axe set or CR/VR/HR setup. I want at least one shred monster. I agree your cap combination may not be working. You may have issues with polarity also. Sometimes A2 sounds better. I find you just have to get the combination that works for you. I like the Surfers, but its a totally different sound that is articulate, bright and tone rich. You might want an A2 set like the APS II singles or you may want Lil humbuckers.
