noise gate?

Re: noise gate?

Boss is pretty good. I use a Tonelab processor, which has an excellent one built in.

Re: noise gate?

ISP is good but the other guitarist in my band has had issues with his acting funny. I use the MXR smart gate which is great for eliminating feedback on high gain but really isnt so helpful if you're just trying to clear up background noise on a lower gain setting.

Re: noise gate?

Remember the point of a noise gate is to LIMIT the amount of noise, cutting it off completely would result in having such a big threshhold it'd be stupid. The BOSS works great.period. It's built great and is sturdy as hell, the perfect noide gate for live settings.

Re: noise gate?

well, it has to be a bit tone robbing. that's how the gates work. i just need it for eliminating feedback when on high gain.

My ISP doesn't rob tone...

I'd suggest an ISP decimator, no use going cheap on something only to find out it's unusable.
