Noisey MXR Micro Chorus

I just bought a MXR Micro Chorus. I really like its effect and how simple it is... but damn, is it noisey. I have tried different cables, batteries, a/c adapters and no change. I am running it through a Marshall Class 5.

Any ideas on how I can fix this or did I just get a defective pedal?

Thanks!
Jeff

Re: Noisey MXR Micro Chorus

Mine is not noisy at all. I use it in the effects loop of my Mesa Mark IV. Love the pedal to death. My clean sound is totally cheesy 80's ! It does not sound great in front of the amp so if you have an effects loop.. try placing it there.

Re: Noisey MXR Micro Chorus

The Micro Chorus and Micro Flanger are old school designs and like old pedals they do have a little noise...my Micro Flanger is a little noisy but the tone more than makes up for it.

Email Dunlop, they are super cool and easy to work with.

Re: Noisey MXR Micro Chorus

My Micro Chorus wasn't noisy per se but gawd, was it loud! I had that, a Carbon Copy and the Micro Flanger in the FX loop and there wasn't a way to make it less overpowering. Eventually, I replaced it with a MXR Black Label Chorus and now I am happy. It complements the Micro Chorus and Carbon Copy very nicely.

Re: Noisey MXR Micro Chorus

When I am not playing anything through my guitar I can hear the chorus effect on the noise. I have a solid state Marshall 15w amp I havent tried it through yet...
