Non-humongous fuzz

Heyo!
I'm in the process of putting together a new pedal board.
My current one is a Gator board with a ProCo Rat2, EHX Big Muff Pi, EHX Small Clone and a TC Electonic Flashback.
My new one will most likely be a Pedaltrain Jr and I will transplant my old pedals to it and add a TC Electronic PolyTune Mini and most likely a Hall of Fame.
The Big Muff is quite big tho and I'm looking for a smaller fuzz to fit on the more compact board (my Muff currently takes up about 1/4 of my current board).
I'm looking for something with a decent price tag - I'm not into boutique pedals.

On a side note, I'm considering cabling the new board with Lava cables. Thoughts on that?

Re: Non-humongous fuzz

Besides size of the enclosure what are you looking for in a fuzz?

If you like your muff you could always try the EHX Little Muff or if you are handy drop the Big Muff's circuit board into another smaller enclosure.

Re: Non-humongous fuzz

Yeah, it's basically something with a similar sound to the Muff. I've been looking at the Akai Drive3 Fuzz, which seems quite nice. It basically got a Muff sound, a Fuzzface sound and a mix of the two.
I've been told the Little Muff doesn't sound too great compared to the full sized one. I have yet to try for myself tho.

Re: Non-humongous fuzz

I was considering the little big muff or their newer muff, or the expensive dam meathead, but am happy I chose the black arts pharaoh instead at $150 and is not that much bigger than a normal pedal

I had a Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker for a while, and it's the same size as the little Big Muff. Give that a shot. It sounds just like you'd expect a Big Muff to sound, without the massive footprint.

Re: Non-humongous fuzz

Take a look at the Basic Audio Foxey Lady. It's based on the EHX Foxey Lady, the predecessor to the big muff, but with an added mids knob. I like it way more than any of the muffs I've tried. The good news is that is' the size of a Phase 90. The even better news is that they're only $160. The best news is that they're available from Prymaxe Vintage, who are always running some sale or another. I got mine new from them for under $145.

That's what I've currently got on my board, and it's great!

Looks like the Tone Wicker Big Muff is the way to go for me. Very nice price too.
Is it mini jack or coax power connector?

Re: Non-humongous fuzz

Sweetness! Gonna get the Dunlop power brick for the new board and gotta make sure the provided mini jack cables lasts for the Rat and Small clone. :P
