Well, it turns out this guy I was visiting had just acquired a new Marshall amp head! It's been a few months ago, so I really don't remember which model. It was one of the solid state ("yuck!") heads though with the DFX crap! Maybe it was 150 watts, I'm not sure.
Well, he had this half stack speaker (4 x 12) and I wanna say it was some brand like Beringer or someting! Anyway when we hooked up the head we couldn't get much volume, gain or distortion at all. I'm guessing the head wasn't able to drive those speakers!
What do you guys think the problem was? I'm thinking impedance mismatch.
