Not sure about the sound i get from a duncan pickup

Here is an audio clip of my new seymour duncan humbucker, i already have one of these but it doesn't sound really the same. I will not name the humbucker to make sure you can help me to find if this pickup sounds how it should be !

here is the audio clip (3 days for learning that streching intro >.> ) :

It sounds horrible, and it's NOT because of the p'up, but the recording, as it's nothing but digital clipping.

Try again.

Trying to pick out 1 model of pickup when you have the player/guitar/amp/processing/recording technique as variables as well is about as useless an endeavor as I have ever heard......even if the recording was done in something like abbey road.

I don't know what you are expecting it to sound like, so I can't say I'm hearing anything wrong. If you are expecting a pickup will make everything sound like something, the problem is in your expectations.

The first thing you can do to make that sound like it should is to turn the gain down. Right now it is so fuzzed out you might as well just play with a white noise generator.

On another note, lighten up on the palm mutes. Let it ring more. And slow down - it sounds like you're late for woek or something.

Hey guys, does this car exhaust sound right to you? I have the same exhaust on another car, but it doesn't sound the same. I won't tell you what exhaust or car it is, but I'll take some crappy audio clips with the car's stereo running in the background using my phone so you can't even begin to guess at what the hell I'm talking about...

Seriously, OP?

Yes that is indeed a pickup. They work best in electric guitars, although some have found interesting niche's in acoustic guitars throughout.

We can't even begin to tell you if that's how your pickup should sound. Not only because audio clips like these are just terrible to begin with, but because we don't know what pickup if in your guitar, we don't don't know what guitar you've put said pickup in, nor do we know what setting you're playing on your Zoom.

It sounds good, sort of 1970s classic rock. I like it. But need to hear it clean through a mic'd up amp to really tell.

To get the sound you want it's the guitar, pickup and amp combination.

I can get every sound as I want it to be using GarageBand amp models with the selected guitar/pickup combo and I have fooled a lot of folks using the fender black face and tweed models... hard to believe they are recorded in garage band on my iPhone

You say you have the same pup in a different Guitar. How different? Are you talking one's in a Strat the other in a Les Paul? That alone will make a big difference between the tones. Similar model guitars with different wood combinations will have an affect. Different construction too. A flattop vs carved too for instance. You've left too many variables open for anyone to give you an informed opinion. That's the most important word, informed. We need to be better informed to evaluate properly.
