NPD!!!! Amost 40 years old.. And still sounds awesome!!

After buying my first phaser, a MXR Phase 90(standard), I loved the sound. Well I decided to swap, sell, and try other phasers. The EVH 90, Mojo Hand, VFE, Whirlwind, Strymon, etc., but none of them had the sound I was looking for. Either too weak, not enough output, of just sounded a little off.

I was searching on Reverb and found this little jewel. Ad stated late 70's Phase 90. Definitely been used and electronically sound, I pulled the trigger. It came in yesterday and it sounds friggin amazing!!! I pulled the back plate off to date the pedal and it dates to December of 1975!! Amazing!! All for a 100 bucks too!! Warm, chewey, analogue goodness!

Nice buy! I'd be curious to hear it and see how close my custom shop script phase 90 comes to matching an original.

I think the new Phase 90 Script version is the same exact pedal as the vintage one, although they added an LED. There's more mojo with a real vintage one, but at least they reissued it for $100.

Execllent deal! Those old Phase 90's are waht EVH used. They , and in general all old pedals, just trounce the reissues in tone so bad it isn't even funny. So saith the metalmaniac.

Nice score. I bought one about ten years ago for $100 and sold it a couple years later for $250. If I only I'd held it until they hit $600. It sounded great, but the phased hiss in bypass mode drove me crazy. For my needs the EVH was close enough, so I sold my script 90.

That looks great; nice score! I have a Script 90. Use it on occasion.
