I've used an XTC for over 10 years, so I know what the blue and red channels should sound like. I've thought about buying one of these new Bogner pedals, but probably don't need either.

At first, I thought the blue one would be more useful, but the more I hear the red one, the more I start to favor it.

I tried to get the guys at Bogner to give me the new Bogner poster they had at the LA Amp Show booth. It's Reinhold looking like Satan. I'm determined to get one of these posters! LOL

It's the one on the right.

I just got the red, bought it to try with the jet city but I really like it in the mini rectifier. It sounds similar to the modern channel but smoother on top and I like the 20th ann. setting with more pushed mids

The strat sounded good! had a warmer tone,not overly bright. You still have Shiva huh?

I guess the real question is, does it turn a non-bogner into a near-bogner?

Thanks, and the answer is yes. I played it on Fender Deville, Mesa Transatlantic, and Marshall Class 5. As you can hear, it really does an authentic XTC tone. I personally like the 20th ann. setting the most overall, but the 101b, 100 & 20th settings seem to favor different amps. I think this pedal actually sounds best on 6L6 amps. Through the Fender, it was very convincing except it keeps a bit of that Fendery sparkling top end.

These are tempting me like mad!! I just wouldnt be able to decide red or blue... With the price, it'll only be one or the other

when I had my boogie the red sounded similar to my boogie so i went back got the blue, but I didnt play loud and thought it was pretty good then i decided it was time to change amps again lol wanted that fender clean and these pedals work good for that. So I traded my amp for the fender blues deluxe! Thought the blue was a little better then the stock fender but not worth the 300 so I went and got the red again! love the extra VH type gain and dynamics. I didnt play loud but I think this will work.

That's been my dilemma as well. I'm pretty sure I NEED one of these things...lol... it's just a matter of which one. General consensus is that the blue doesn't have a lot of gain on tap, but is open sounding. I'm leaning towards it, but I'll be crushed to find I spent $300 on a pedal that needs another pedal to push it up to higher gain territory.

Ill check the new clips after work! Yeah, Red or blue?? IIRC I think I heard in one of the UTUBE vids about it that the Red pretty much covers the blue and then some.. Maybe??

I would prolly get the red as I want the bigger effect.. Tho prolly a waste the the splawn or jcm800

Pete thorn really dug the pedals, works best with fender type cleans. Red is bad ass if you want pinch harmonic bliss lol

Well apparently GC will carry them, so they won't be as hard as other boutique pedals to find and try before you buy.

That's where I found mine. I went to Guitar Center and played the blue and red through a few different amps. The only one I didn't try was the Uberschall and I may go back to try it tomorrow. I want to buy all three eventually.

Well, I haven't had a chance to try it in the store, but figured I'd take a chance on it... looks like an Ecstasy Blue is headed my way. I wanted something open sounding and don't need lots of gain, so hopefully it's what I'm looking for. The Red looks sweet too, but alas I'll have to gauge just how much gain the Blue has before I decide I need one of those too, lol.

For any one that's looking to take the plunge, they have sales throughout online. Music123 has 15% off and free shipping, 8th Street has 18% off, but you pay shipping (which is the vendor I went to... just works out slightly in my favor).
