Mainly I wanted the "expression" function to use with my Boss GT-001, but I thought the volume function could be cool too. It works great, but I wasn't prepared for how friggin' gigantic this thing is.

That's my AMT Japanese Girl Wah next to it. EVH 5150 distortion in the background.

Absolutely built like the proverbial tank. Silky smooth. Love the "lower-volume limit knob". (And adjustable action.) Makes a great manual tremolo.

Did I mention that this thing is huge? This will be fun to play with.

I have been looking at wah/volume pedals lately too

that looks nice

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

Yeah. Can't wait 'til this weekend so I can try it with the GT-001.

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

Just think, you could have bought it from Vertex and paid twice as much!

A good volume pedal is really fun for swells and the like, and general control of volume.

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

And I forgot to mention one of the coolest things about this pedal. There's a "tuner out" jack on the side, beside the "low volume limit" knob. So you can dial the volume down and still feed the tuner. I love that.

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

Cool, I've seen them on a lot of boards lately. Huge though. Lol

I don't think you want to do that. It eats up tone quite badly, unless you use tuner with true bypass, in which case the tuner out function becomes quite useless.

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

people sure seem to throw a lot of stuff out around you...

that thing is huge! is it heavy?

Interesting. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for that info.

About the same, maybe a bit less, than my Twin Tube Classic. Must be aluminum.

Are you referring to Volume pedals with Tuner outs in general or the Boss pedal?

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

the tuner out should be out of the main signal chain so not sure how it will adversely effect tone. all boss stuff is buffered anyway (although admittedly i dont like the buffer all that much and keep boss pedals in a bypass loop)

Re: NPD: Boss FV-500H volume/expression pedal.

Looks like the accelerator pedal from a city transit bus. You might make some money on the side picking up passengers.

This one isn't buffered because it's passive. (No battery or power jack.) But I tested it with and without my SFX-01 before it. No difference in volume or "tone", so I'm thinking it manages not to load down the guitar.

Bus pedals are much smaller. :D
