NPD: Decibel Eleven Dirt Clod

Securb

One of Jerry's Kids
At first blush I am getting some very "Matt Pike" like tones out of this baby using a DiMarzio SD and the DSL 100. I need to dig into the manual and get a good feel for everything it does. So far I am impressed. Totally analog signal path with midi switching and 10 presets. The footprint is also a lot smaller than expected. Very cool pedal so far.

I'm guessing that "Core" "Crystal" and "Mass" are some sort of active Mid, Treble and Bass controls. Love to hear a clip if you get to it.

Congrats!

Never heard of it. I hate it when companies put hokey names on their controls.
Will have to look this up, have no clue what this pedal does.

Awesome pedal! I don't need to look up what a dirt pedal does though, I understand it's basic function and usage.

Core controls the mids bumping or scooping them. Crystal controls the highs I am not sure yet is it is a roll off or standard tone control. Mass controls the output level. I have actually been recording more clips lately so I will most likely include a clip when I review this.

Yep I am not a fan of nondescript names. I am loving this thing. Right out of the box it was set to the default gain which is very thick and heavy. Like I said I was getting a big Matt Pike tone. The second gain stage is more of an 808ish type of deal dialing up some more familiar tones. You push down on the dirt knob to toggle the gain types. Yesterday I gave it a run through my clean channel to get a feel for what is can do. I will probably use it to goose the amp a bit today. The nice thing is it is midi so it will play nicely with the H9.

Re: NPD: Decibel Eleven Dirt Clod

The demo vids are cool, and I like the 10 preset idea a lot.

That is what has me so in love with this pedal. My Source Audio Classic Distortion Pro gives me 6 presets and sounds pretty damn good for a digital pedal. I really like the idea/sound of an analog circuit with these options. I have the thing set with a really low gain right now and I am playing some dirty, swampy Nawlins type blues licks with the Tele. Once I have the presets loaded I will bang out a clip or two. The pedal also does a clean boost if needed. That is one more pedal I can take off the board.
