NPD: Digitech Digidelay & pedal power supply advice needed

Just got my new/used Digitech Digidelay. I owned one before went through a pedal-less phase last yr or so. Slowly picking up new pedals here and there and starting a new pedalboard.

Forgot how impressive this delay is. Not as shrill as some digital delays and has about any type of delay you could want. I'm getting the impression this is sort of the predecessor of the Hardwire DL-8. Had the chance to demo one and really liked it. Probably upgrade to one eventually but for now and for the Digidelay is quite the bang for your buck.

Now that I'm using a digital delay again I realize 9v batteries just ain't gonna cut it. Used to use the Voodoo Lab PP2 but I'm not really looking to invest that much into a power supply right now. Any suggestions? I'm looking at the Visual Sound 1 spot. Anyone have any experience with it?

You can't see it well but someone has changed the led to blue.

1 Spot is the one to beat in the cheap power supply category.

Thanks! Wasn't sure if there was anything else even close to it's price range.

I used to swear by my one spot. Worked a treat for years and years. But then one day it stopped working as did two of the five of the pedals it was powering. Might just be coincidence but I'll never use another. I'm sticking with the tried and true boss wall warts.

Funny, I had the exact opposite experience (BOSS failed, switched to 1 Spot).

The DigiTech DigiDelay is the delay I use most, and I use a VS 1Spot to power it along with 4 other stompboxes at a time. I like 'em.

Thanks for the info! That's sums my needs up in a nutshell. Digidelay & 4 other pedals. Will a generic barrel connector daisy chain work with the 1Spot? I have one somewhere that worked with the old Boss PSM-5. If it doesn't connect I have a Korg Pitchblack that it can power and it has a power out to run to other pedals.

Oh yeah. Anyone have any noise issues with the 1Spot vs other power adapters like the Boss adapter etc?

I use the same delay. Batteries are a total NO for this Stompbox. I use a generic Powers supply for this. But I am looking at alternatives. I love this Delay.

I would go for the pedal power 2. I use one to power up my eventide time factor and 6 other pedals. They're great for pedal boards and drawers. A little pricey but deff fits my needs. Plus its all isolated power outs and doesn't degrade the pedals sound quality. Noticed a slight difference compared to daisy chaining my pedals power.

I've owned a Pedal Power II (non plus) before when I was playing out regularly. It is pretty much the end all of pedal power supplies but right now I'm only playing at home and the occasional jam with a couple friends. I really don't want to spend quite that much $$ at the moment. Not to mention I'm only powering 4-5 pedals. I feel like the PPII is a bit overkill for my current needs.

The DigiDelay does eat batteries like my dogs eat leftovers.

Re: NPD: Digitech Digidelay & pedal power supply advice needed

Yeah i meant to say pedal power 2 plus. like i said its good for what i need it for, but if you're at home just occasionally jamming with people it doesn't really justify spending 170 dollars on a power supply.

Re: NPD: Digitech Digidelay & pedal power supply advice needed

My old PPII was the older version without the "plus" but it was still more than I needed. Couldn't believe the resale value. If I find myself back in a band situation it's what I'll be buying for sure.

I'm considering trying an old generic 9v with fairly high mA along with this simple circuit: the huminator. Looks promising for eliminating any hum and my actual power needs are pretty simple. I'm thinking if I look there has to be an old 9v dc power supply here somewhere and I've been looking for an excuse to try this circuit. When I first saw it there was a PPII powering everything so I had no hum concerns.
